An eight-year-old from Staffordshire is taking on an impressive fundraising challenge this January, running one mile every day to raise money for Katharine House Hospice.
The challenge is being completed in memory of his great-grandad, who was cared for by the hospice during his final days.

Running with a purpose
The young fundraiser has committed to running a mile every day throughout January, whatever the weather. Despite cold and difficult conditions earlier in the month, he has continued with the challenge, showing determination well beyond his years.
His mum says the weather has made some of the runs especially tough, but he has kept going with one clear goal in mind: raising as much money as possible to support the hospice that meant so much to his family.
The JustGiving page includes a message written by him, along with updates on each of his runs.
A family’s way of giving back
The fundraising challenge is deeply personal. Katharine House Hospice provided care and support to his great-grandad and offered vital help to the wider family, including support for his great-grandmother while she was caring for him at home.
The family say this challenge is their way of saying thank you, while also helping ensure the hospice can continue supporting other families in similar situations.
