New dates have been released for Staffordshire County Council’s free Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training, after the last round filled up fast.
The training is part of the Talk Suicide programme and is a half day, tutor led session held online on Zoom. It is delivered by Staffordshire County Council in partnership with Mind.

New this quarter: a Saturday session
In a Facebook update shared yesterday, Staffordshire County Council said a Saturday morning session has been added after people asked for weekend options.
The two bookable sessions shared by the council are:
Saturday 11 April, 9:30am to 1:00pm (around 20 spaces left at the time shared)
Tuesday 14 April, 9:30am to 1:00pm (around 12 spaces left at the time shared)
Spaces can go quickly, so it is worth booking as soon as you can if you want a place.
What the training covers
The council says the course helps people to:
spot signs someone may be at risk
use a simple 4 step approach to offer early support
signpost to local support services
It is open to anyone aged 18+ who lives, works, or volunteers in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, and you do not need any mental health background to attend.
Staffordshire County Council says over 2,500 people have already taken part.
