Half-Term in Stafford: Our what's on guide

​Looking for something to do during the February school holidays? Here's a small list of things going on or near Stafford Town Centre.


We will be updating this blog throughout the week as more events are announced, so keep checking back!



1. Market Square Fun Fair

  • Dates: Monday 16th Feb – Saturday 21nd Feb (10am-5pm)

  • Location: Market Square, Stafford

  • What to expect: A small, family-friendly fun fair is set to take over the heart of the town. It’s the perfect spot to let the kids burn off some energy while you’re out doing the shopping.



2. The Victoria Park Pancake Race

  • Date: Tuesday 17th February (Shrove Tuesday)

  • Time: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

  • Location: Victoria Park, Stafford

  • The Details: It is time to get flipping! Victoria Park is hosting its annual pancake races. There are separate races for families and local businesses, so whether you’re running with the kids or representing your workplace, come along for some midday fun.



3. "There Is No Planet B" Stafford Green Arts Festival

  • Dates: Sat 14th Feb – Sat 21st Feb

  • Location: St Chad’s Church, Stafford

  • The Details: This festival is a collaboration between Sustainability Matters and the Stafford District Arts Council. You can view beautiful environmental artwork created by local schools and community groups, with positive messages on looking after our planet. There is also an open art competition and various craft activities for families.

4. Staffordshire History Centre: Spring Half-Term Workshops

​The new History Centre has a packed schedule of crafty sessions and a massive family fun day to end the week.

  • Brilliant Boardgames (Tue 17th Feb, 11am – 3pm): Try historical boardgames and craft your own snakes and ladders board. Cost: £2.50, no booking required.

  • Amazing Acrobats Workshops (Wed 18th Feb): A guided workshop to make a handmade wooden toy. Sessions at 10:30am and 1:30pm. Cost: £2.50, booking required.

  • Puppet Parade Crafts (Thu 19th Feb): Create string puppets (10:30am, booking required) or shadow and finger puppets (12:30pm – 3:30pm, no booking required). Cost: £2.50.

  • Family Fun Day: Twenties Takeover (Fri 20th Feb, 10:30am – 3:30pm): Step back 100 years for a day of glitz, glamour, sequins, and dressing up. Includes games and a badge challenge. Cost: FREE, no booking required.
