In a significant boost for men’s mental health in Mid Staffordshire, the award-winning suicide prevention charity Andy’s Man Club has announced the launch of a second group in the town.
Starting Monday, 2nd March, the new group - named Stafford North - will open its doors to provide even more local men with a safe, pressure-free space to talk.

Meeting the Growing Demand
The expansion comes as a direct response to the success of the original Stafford group. Meeting every Monday at Stafford Rugby Club, the existing branch consistently sees over 30 men attending each week. This high level of engagement is a testament to the hard work of the local facilitators and the growing culture of men supporting men in the borough.
Two Locations, One Mission
From March 2nd, men in Stafford will have the choice of two meeting locations. Both groups follow the exact same format and run simultaneously:
Stafford Central: Stafford Rugby Club, Blackberry Lane, ST16 2TT.
Stafford North (New): Stafford Family Hub, Faraday Road, ST16 3NQ.

What Happens at a Session?
For those who have never attended, the prospect of walking through the door can be daunting, but the format is designed to be as simple and welcoming as possible.
There is no referral needed, no registration, and no cost. The sessions run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, though members are encouraged to arrive at 6:45 PM. This "quarter-to" arrival allows time for a brew, a biscuit, and a chance to settle in before the session begins.
Once the clock strikes seven, the group follows a tried-and-tested peer-to-peer support model. Facilitators lead the group through five set questions, including:
How has your week been?
One positive thing from your week?
Anything to get off your chest? (Plus two rotating topical questions).
There is never any pressure to speak; men can simply sit and listen until they feel ready to share.
A Growing Movement
An Andy’s Man Club spokesperson previously noted that the goal is to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and reduce the male suicide rate. By opening "Stafford North," the charity ensures that support is even more accessible to those living in the northern parts of the town and surrounding villages.
Both groups meet every Monday of the year, excluding bank holidays. Whether you are going through a storm or just need a place to belong, the message remains the same: #ITSOKAYTOTALK
