Leigh Ingham MP, the Member of Parliament for Stafford, has launched a petition calling for a new pedestrian crossing on Castle Bank (A518).
The petition asks Staffordshire County Council for a crossing on Castle Bank between West Way and Stafford Castle. It says the aim is to help people cross the road more safely when walking to work, school, or visiting local amenities like Stafford Castle.

Why the petition has been launched
In the petition message, Leigh says a crossing is “overdue” and would allow residents to move around the area more safely on foot.
It also says that while a crossing may not fully fix speeding concerns on Castle Bank, it would “go a long way” towards helping pedestrians feel safer.

What happens next
A petition like this is a way to show how many people in the area support the request. Leigh says she has written to Staffordshire County Council to ask for the crossing, and the petition is there to back the campaign with public support.
