Fire Crews Tackle Large Rooftop Blaze Above Boots in Stafford Town Centre

Firefighters spent several hours on Saturday morning tackling a large fire that broke out in a wooden structure on the roof of the Boots building in Stafford's Market Square.
Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene just before 3:30 am on Saturday (27 September) following reports of flames coming from the three-storey building. Four crews attended and found a wooden outbuilding on the roof of the property "well alight".

Firefighters used a main jet to extinguish the blaze and remained on the scene for over seven hours, eventually leaving at around 11 am. The fire service has confirmed that nobody was injured in the incident.
The fire occurred on the same morning as a separate, unrelated police incident which took place further down the high street at Bridge Street.
An investigation into the cause of the fire will now be carried out in due course.

"Firefighters have extinguished a large fire above a business in Stafford.
We were called just before 3.30am on Saturday (27 September) to Market Square, Stafford, following reports of flames coming from a three-storey building.
Four appliances attended the scene and found a wooden outbuilding in the roof of a building well alight.
Crews used a main jet to extinguish the fire and nobody was reported injured.
An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
Crews left the scene at around 11am."
