A spectacular wetland nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) located on the edge of Stafford. Managed by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, it's a paradise for birdwatchers and walkers.

Doxey Marshes is a beautiful and expansive wetland oasis, offering a vital green space for wildlife and people just a short walk from Stafford town centre. As one of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust's flagship reserves, this SSSI is a nationally important site for breeding and migrating birds.

The reserve features a network of flat, accessible paths and bird hides, making it easy to explore the pools and reedbeds that are teeming with life throughout the year. Visitors can expect to see a huge variety of bird species, from ducks and swans in the winter to wading birds and warblers in the summer.

Is Doxey Marshes accessible all year round?

Doxey Marshes is usually not accessible from around October until June, this is due to reserve forming part of the River Sow floodplain so is naturally a wet area and will occasionally flood.
